Augusto Cicare's seen above flying one of his recent design the CH-11.
The proto type powered by a Rotax 582. The tail boom U C is there only
to maintain the proper CG.
Senor Cicare used the same air frame he designed for the CH-6, CH-7
Angel n Kompress as he using for CH-11 Coaxial pictured above. This way
he avoids major surgery on the frame or the additional expense just to
create a new airframe that would fix the CG problem created by removing
the tail boom.
So, when viewing this foto, forget the tail boom since anti torque
is not needed. However, if U look closely, Senor Cicare has a little right
peddle pushed in.
To maintain a heading or to turn the nose left or right, pushing in
one for the peddles caused a difference in-between the normally uniform
pitch setting between the two sets of counter rotating rotor systems. Simple,
but I am sure not an easy task to accomplish on two rotating disks at 5oo
+ - RPMs or so, in the opposite directions.
I think the rights to this rotor system/helicopter may be available to be licensed for manufacture. If interested n you are serious manufacture/marketer, pop over to his SVH-3 flight simulator site linked from SH's New Stuff page or drop me a line via eM n I will be happy to hook U both up.
