Take
a look at this guy's smile. This guy is my dad n the girl planting the
Hawaiian lei on him with kiss is my wife Damaris. I shot this foto
just under 48 hours ago. I am the luckiest dude this side of Maui, not
only am I married to a young exotic south American beauty, created n own
my own business, built, own n fly one of the best/safest experimental helicopters
in the world today, both my 8o year old parents are still healthy
n still married.
Now another stroke of luck is that my dad agreed to zoom over to Kona n spend our last week with us in Hawaii. My dad has lived here longer than I n is a survivor of the Pearl Harbor attack on Dec. 7th, 1941. Any way, what a kick to be exploring Hawaii with my bestest hiking buddy.
Less than an hour ago we discovered n hiked an abandon railroad bed leading from the sugar cane plantation area to the second largest harbor on the big island. Ironically, my dad had twice smuggled (with his captain's permission) me aboard his US Navy LST (Landing Ship, Tank) and once during one of these two trips in the late 50s, I actually got to drive a Army tank ashore (with the help of the operator, I was only about 8 than) at the vary harbor we were just exploring. Now, I ain't bragging, I am just takeing toll of how fortunate my life has been.
