This is the airframe just after being powder coated. Powder coating, I'm told, is about 10 time more resistant to scratchs and chips then automotive paint. The process itself consists of spraying a sticky powder onto the item being sprayed. The item is then baked in an oven at 400 degrees. Of couse the best benefit of powder coating is the nice "wet paint" look that it gives.

Since I will be registering this as an experimental and applying for the FAA's mechanic license which will enable me to do annuals and 1oo hour inspections, I decided to totally dismantle her, inspect for any worn components such as bearings and change the color scheme of the helicopter.
