A side view of the new owner tweaking his New Kompress after taking delivery earlier that day at the HeliSport new maintenance facility near Asti (the same Asti as in the wine "Asti Spumonti) about an hour south east of their original facility.
Just out side the cockpit on the right you C Josi Barbero looking in at the gages, HeliSport's mechanical master mind.
.
Above, a rather intense/ maticulasly checking of something on his new instrument panel. Note near the pilot's right/cyclic hand a rather unique gray bar. This is something Josi n Igi Barbero came up with that allows the back seat IP (instructor pilot) to comofortably add his input to the cyclic with out disturbing the student.
.
The new pilot was naturally quite preoccupied the entire day, so when I had a moment, I just congratulated him for his new toy and mentioned I had met him 3 or so years back. However, now that I think of it, I did forget to mention to him that I too was an CH-7 Owner/Driver which always puts one in a separate class other than just being a curious/in the way on looker at the air field.
.
You may get the impression that I am quite impressed and happy with what I saw that day in a little farm field near Asti Italy, you're RIGHT, I Was/Am...... The Kompress is not inexpensive, you pay a lot, but you get a LOT TOO..... Often, you don't pay much, you don't get much ether. If you guys are thinking about a bargain basement/inexpensive 2 seat helicopter, Dream On my Man, that's because they only exist in your dreams..... However, if you do some investigation on the Kompress and buy what I am sure you too will think to be the best, you are apt to find that one is seldome dissappointed if one buy the best in the first place. After owning an CH-7 Angel for a few years/106 hours, I am quitte confident you too will agree with me and end up haveing many many years of glorious/maintenance free helicopter flight with your Kompress.
.
Many of you know how more than a few hundreds pilots made a bad investment and now have Hanger Queens, they are the lucky ones, 6 guys are dead because they didn't keep their Queen on the ground....... Don't make the same mistake and buy the second generation Hangar Queen, get a birds that has lots of history. This bird's roots are 6 helicopters deep. The CH-7 stands for Cicare's Helicopter # 7. The 2 Kompress proto types have over 1,ooo flight hours of testing with over 3,ooo man hours of RnD done just to arrive at the 1,ooo flight hours. All that is after manufacturing/selling over 13o copies of the CH-7 Angel. Incidentally, if you have seen the first Angel video I offered for sale, you may remember the white Angel in the video (the portion with out sound)??? Anyway, this past Saturday, some 6 years later I saw that exact white Angel fly again, what does this mean to you? It means a hell of a lot to me since I own an Angel, there is lots of hours in a HeliSport product.
.
Any way, Don't expect to get all the work put it took to make the journey from the CH-1 to the CH-7, than onto the Kompress for NOTHING. But remember isn't your arse is worth it, after all, it is the only one you got. Would you rather have a empty savings account, a good reliable helicopter/Kompress and a smile on your face when you go for a whirl for years to come as I have had with my CH-7 Angel? Or would you be happier with a few bucks in the bank and a Hangar Queen in your garage/hangar. Remember, these guys with the Queens are the lucky ones, there is 6 guys who's relatives wish they were around to bitch about their Queens they paid the devil with their life didn't they...................!
.
Unlike the sound of the Angel, from this angle, the Kompress sounds are just of the muffeled low tone of  the exhaust and the traditional fan sound of the TR as it changes pitch. Watching others fly my Angel, from this angel Miss Nina has a hi pitch 2 cycle sound along with the fan sounds of the TR. However there is a considerably notable addition of sounds made from all the fast moving parts in the Angel's 582 power plant which is not as prevalent in the Kompress. Perhaps one day when time permits I will add 2 sound/.wav files to this page which will enable you to compare the differences between. To me the Angel sounds worse this angle than any other, it is OK, but the Kompress sounds (for a lack of a better word, Real COOL from this angle.

Yes, the sound of one's helicopter really isn't that important, but nonetheless, when the sound is music to one's rotor head ears, well, what can I say..... None of us need to have beautiful wives either, but I feel confident in saying we all shopped around for a good looking one didn't we. So with this thought in mind, why not enjoy the sound along with the sight of the helicopter of your dreams.
