Seems a young blond haired lady was about to leave the shopping center parking lot when she heard what she thought was a gun shot in the back the rear of her car n instantly felt a severe blow to the back of her head.
Turns out the girl was discovered by a passer by after he noticed she had been sitting in her car almost motionless for a un usually long time holding her head. After the rescue crew use the jaws of life (a powerful motor driven hydraulic pry bar rescue tool) to cut her free from her almost new car (because she would not remove her hands from hold the back of her head to un lock the car).
Now the rescue crew had the doors open and were now able to communicate freely n not thru the locked car. After being pried out, the story unfolds rapidly. She frantically tells the paramedics that she had been shot in the back of the head n was now holding her brain in her head with her two hands.
Well the paramedics finally were able to remove her hands assuring her repeatedly that they will take care of her leaking brain. Instantly the medics notice a lump of gray white matter at the nape of her neck.
Turns out a tube of Pillsbury "popping fresh doe" had over heated in the warm California sun due to being locked in the car's back seat n popped. Seems she was Christmas shopped (after she had done her food shopping . As luck would have it (probably from the slam of her car door), a glob of the warm doe smacked the girl in the back of the head with a loud pop. Being from Los Angels she thinks she hears a gun shop, than instantly feeling something thud her in the back of the neck. This combined with her grabbing at the pain n feeling the warm doe which she thought felt was her brain oozing out from under her blond hair caused her to faint..........
She than regains consciousness, site motionless trying to save her life by holding her brain in as she hopes n waits for some passer by to notice she needs help.........
I personally can't believe it but a True Story, just this past week
on the news in Southern California.
1. Every takeoff is optional but after take off landing is mandatory.
2. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick all the way back, they get bigger again, than things may go black in your mind for ever .
3. Flying isn't dangerous. Crashing is what's dangerous.
4. It's always better to be down here wishing you were up there than up there wishing you were down here.
5. The ONLY time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.
6. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. The proof is when it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.
7. When in doubt, hold on to your altitude. No one has ever collided with the sky.
8. A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great' landing is one after which they can use the plane again.
9. Learn from the mistakes of others. You won't live long enough to make all of them yourself.
10. You know you've landed with the wheels up if it takes full power to taxi to the ramp.
11. The probability of survival is inversely proportional to the angle of arrival. Large angle of arrival, small probability of survival and vice versa.
12. Never let an aircraft take you somewhere your brain didn't get to five minutes earlier.
13. Stay out of clouds. The silver lining everyone keeps talking about might be another airplane going in the opposite direction. Reliable sources also report that mountains have been known to hide out in clouds.
14. Always try to keep the number of landings you make equal to the number of take offs you've made.
15. There are three simple rules for making a smooth landing. Unfortunately no one knows what they are.
16. You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
17. Helicopters can't fly; they're just so ugly the earth repels them. (This one is pure BS, Glenn)
18. If all you can see out of the window is ground that's going round and round and all you can hear is commotion coming from the passenger compartment, things are not at all as they should be.
19. In the on going battle between objects made of aluminum going hundreds of miles per hour and the ground going zero miles per hour, the ground has yet to lose.
20. Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgment.
21. It's always a good idea to keep the pointy end going forward as much as possible (accept if you are flying a helicopter).
22. Keep looking around. There's always something you've missed.
23. Remember, gravity is not just a good idea. It's the law. And it's not subject to appeal.
24. The two most useless things to a pilot are:
1. The altitude above you,
2. The runway behind you.
The second officer being an intelligent n somewhat experienced man himself went out of his way to answer the captain's question to the best of his abilities. So for about 10 or so minuets they chatted away passing the time cruised the friendly skies at 35 thousand feet as they crossed the continent of north America.
The old captain not verbally saying much agreed with all the points
the first officer brought up about the new smaller cockpit crew. Than at
the end of the co pilot's somewhat thrall n long winded answer
the captain just sat there quietly for a few seconds than with out cracking
a smile the old captain said to his junior pilot "I like the fact
that now since there is only 2 of us in the cockpit, I can always tell
with out a doubt who farted n stank up my cockpit".
Dear Friends,
a few weeks ago we shipped a hang glider to San Juan - Puerto Rico. This hang glider has been shipped at Genoa (Italy) but never arrived at destination. We therefore believe that it has been stolen (or lost).
The serial number of the hang glider is #6828, it is a L13ST Deluxe
with folding speed bar.
Colours: Fluor Orange/Fluor Orange. Hang loop 30cm
If you ever should hear about this hang glider or see it fly (or catch any info on it), please inform us about it.
Thank you for your attention.
Best regards,
Saskia

Robinson One of the 100 Fastest-Growing Robinson Helicopter Company,
manufacturer of the
two-seat R22 and four-seat R44 helicopters, has been placed on the
Los Angeles Business Journal list of The 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies.
This is the first time Robinson has been so recognized. "I am pleased and
honored to be included. We've experienced steady and consistent growth
during the past five years and it's a pleasant surprise to have our company
on the Business Journal's list," President and CEO Frank Robinson said.
"This year has been our best year ever. We are now the world's leading
producer of civilian helicopters, and we expect continued growth next year."
Robinson attributes his company's success to its ability to provide quality,
high performance helicopters at a reasonable price "Today's helicopter
market is very competitive, and price matters. By keeping the price affordable.
and also providing speed, reliability and predictable maintenance, our
helicopters have become a very attractive alternative. Not only for entry-level
purchasers who are buying their first helicopter, but also for experienced
helicopter companies who want to reduce expenses and increase their profit
margins." To accommodate the company's growing production demand, Robinson
plans to add a new 130,000 square foot building adjacent to the 260,000
square foot manufacturing plant completed just six years ago at the Torrance
Airport. A long-term lease is still being
negotiated with the City of Torrance for the additional property, but
approval is expected soon.
With the additional manufacturing space, Robinson will be able to increase
its employment to approximately 1,200. The Journal ranks companies by their
percentage growth in revenues from 1997 to 1999, by 1999 revenues, and
by the number of current employees, respectively. To
qualify, a company must be privately owned, for-profit, headquartered
in Los Angeles County, have at least $5 million in revenues and not be
a division or subsidiary of another company.
Robinson currently employs 800 people and produces seven new R44s plus
three new R22s weekly. The aircraft are used in 67 countries and are the
world's two most-popular helicopters.
Just bought a mini 500 with 0 hours all upgrades and mods completed.
does anyone have anything good to say about the mini 500? I would like
to fly it but have heard many bad
things about it. I have 5000+ hrs rotorcraft and fly for a living.
I would love to fly this mini 500 just for fun IF I felt it could be done
safely. your comments are appreciated.
Thank you, Geraldine Ahrens

Until than, please realize, I already contribute 10/20 hours a week hosting/editing SHnPGIE n I personally feel it only fair that the people that enjoy n profit from this site should also contribute something to help pay SHnPGIE's out of pocket expenses. So, needing cash for SHnPGIE I started selling a few things to help supplement SHnPGIE's contributions.
So, if you're purchasing a book from Amazon, now or in the future, by clicking thru SHnPGIE, we will get a small (about $0.50) commission. Or if you use telephone cards, by purchasing from SHnPGIE, you will save a buck n SHnPGIE will make a buck since (we sell them for a dollar less than at your local convenience store). So if you have the need for one of the two for mentioned items, please click on the icon above.
It all adds up n will help maintain n perhaps allow me to cover additional helicoptering events, thus giving YOU more good stuff on helicopters to read n quality fotos to dream on n help SHnPGIE be on the WWWeb one more year.
It's all up to you, the reader if
SHnPGIE is on the WWWeb after September 1999.
Right now I feel like the beggars
we C on the PBS TV channels from time to time, they are annoying aren't
they, sorry.

and
back. The author Bob Mason tells how he almost washed out of pre flight
school but was allowed to take the "Hell Month" over again (6o days of
Hell Month) and almost a year later earned his wing as a Warrant
Officer. He tells how he and many other set up one of the first Air Cavalry
Divisions (perhaps the first, I can't remember). Any way, I enjoyed
Bob's book so much I have actually read 3 times so far and most likely
will again. It is a great book for any one fascinated with the whirling
wing/helicopter and or VietNam helicopter aviation. If you are forgetful
like me, you can enjoy it 3 times for only $8.76 thru Amazon.com. Click

was the first human to break the sound barrier. But the story that leads
up to him being in the right place at the right time and having "the Right

(I read this one a few years back n only once) this book also starts out
when Chuck was a young man on a farm, following him thru Army flight school,
a W.W.II P51 pilot in Europe and back to Murrock/Eedwards AF Base, retiring
a Air Force Brig. General....... Great human aviation story, great W.W.II

You
may have seen the movie or perhaps the segment on 6o minuets or 2o/2o type
TV show recently. What a story that starts with a grope of young soccer
players on a twin engine turbo prop plane flying thru the Andes in Chili
South America and does not make it. I do not want to give it a way, but
is is a great story and just keeps on coming and coming as you turn the
page. Once again, I read this one a few years ago and with my memory, I
will take it with me on my next long airline flight and read/enjoy it all
over.
