This is Augusto Cicare's flight simulator pictured below, the SVH3. During
my visit to Saladillo I had the chance to see this model n also had the
fortune to fly the last prototype this one was developed from.
Knowing Augusto n his associated justifiably had what I call "Gringo
Fever" arising from Augusto's a previous experience with an American, I
had no problem agreeing with his wishes to not post anything on the simulator
until they gave the me OK. Just to show my sincerity and respect, I did
not take any fotos simulator during my visit. This is the exact reason
why I can only post the copies from this article.
I do however have video of me flying the last prototype n in the future,
if n when time permits, I will capture/digitize a few frames from this
tape to post here. Flying the simulator was VARY realistic n a GREAT idea
to say the least.
Interestingly, this simulator, if detached from the stand will actually
fly with only the addition of a working altimeter n ASI/VSI. Perhaps even
more interestingly, this craft uses the 582 Rotax n literally never gets
into ETL, thus it's power plant is always working it's hardest with the
least amount of cooling provided by it's constant hovering, n so far, no
problems. This is quite ironic considering how bad a reputation the same
power plant has with a different US unmentionable 582 user who's craft
has caused numerous lethal crashes.
This briefcase device pictured above is what the IP uses as he stands out
side the simulator to both communicate with the student and to simulate
various problems after the student master the basics.
It has been over 2 years now since I was in Argentina (I have tentative
plans to visit again for a few days next fall after I close my store for
the winter, however, lots of water gonna pass under that bridge before
the fall) and flew the proto type so I can't remember exactly what/all
that can be simulated, but I know a tail rotor failure, engine out, but
that's all this 5o year old memory can dug up right now, sorry......
Below is the article scanned from an Italian magazine. If by chance
you are affiliated with this magazine n are offend by me posting this article
here, just eM me right now n I will
remove it n the fotos immediately....... Iffin U are bi lingual in both
English n Italian, read on, if you are not as I am, suffer as I too must.
In a few days from today (May 20, 1999) August's simulator IP, Sergio
seen flying the R22 in the previous page with Augusto's nick name (Perincho)
on the foats will be visiting us with his family for a week or so, perhaps
he will be bring some fotos to post here??????
